Many people around the world are tired of hearing about AI in advertising. A new survey shows that most consumers do not like AI-made ads. They think AI is just a marketing trick, and it makes ads feel less real. More than 78% of people said AI ads are “embarrassing” when brands use them too much.

This bad feeling also changes what people buy. About 63% of people said they would not buy from brands that use AI ads. And 73% said they do not trust ads that might be made by AI. More than half of the people said they feel annoyed by all the talk about AI. Around 65% wished that brands would just stop mentioning AI in their marketing.

However, the advertising world is using AI more and more each year. Over half of the workers in the field use AI to create new ideas and make pictures or videos. About 4 in 10 use AI for writing ad texts and making media plans. At the same time, more ads now include AI-related words. The term “AI-powered” is becoming very popular in app stores and online descriptions.

Some big brands have openly welcomed AI in their ads. For example, Coca-Cola’s AI holiday ads caused many debates. Another brand, Svedka, used AI to make robot characters for its Super Bowl ad this year. But other brands have made different choices. Apple has focused more on handmade ads. Brands like Almond Breeze used AI in a funny and ironic way — they made fun of AI itself to show how real and natural their products are.
